Reflect Poem by Amanda May Moore

i live to reflect truth
the truth God has given

i rejoice in the pool
rest in my reflection

and even though i lose
myself sometimes
i always reencounter this truth:
God made us to reflect His love

a love so perfect is hard to reflect
sometimes in this broken world

it breaks my heart when others
do not acknowledge or respect
our Creator, who has created everything
perfect in it's time

my heart is broken.
this sorrow goes unspoken.

so, let me ask you this:
if a child makes you a gift,
do you then destroy their precious creation?

no.

that would be poor reflection of respect
to the creator of such a gift.

it is no less different in loving yourself

because you too are His beautiful creation
and when we fail to reflect this love
it hurts others around us.
victims of no trust and untruth.

do not be afraid to shine with truth of who you are,
because it is a reflection of love that is what you and I are made of.
