Reflection Poem by Plabita Bhaskar

Reflection

A crystalline plane
Reflecting a twin figure of me
Complacent its incandescent beam
I fooled the world in camouflage
The mirrors revealed my whim.

The scales of truth
Hard, undefined.
Masquerading world in tales of lies
The fear of defeat was ever beneath
Invincible masks to veil my vulnerability.

Oh! But the pristine crystalline plane,
It's spying light and a helpless me.
The veil of disguise so melted down
For mirrors can't contort,
My daunting fears my voiceless screams.

Nobody can befool himself/herself in a mirror......you can visualize yourself watching your reflection in a mirror....this honest truth has been beautifully captured in your nice lines.....thanks for sharing your poem..
