Reflection; What's Going On Poem by Adity Sharma

Reflection; What's Going On

Rating: 5.0

The fire that's burning inside
The rage that's storming in
The tears that are stinging
The passion that's growing

Enough of society
Too much of community
So less of humanity
Keeping your head high
And walking with pride
They call it insanity

Don't do this and
Don't do that
Don't touch the sky and stay veiled
Don't break the rules
That are fake
Don't cross the limits which are useless

Stay quite and do the chores
Don't complain however hard is the work

Believe in equality
But tolerate the injustice
Stay silent even when someone call you
Characterless

Don't judge anyone and
Just keep clam
Smile through pain even when
Sadness flows like rain

Be at your best and
Don't demand for rest
If you want good change
Instead of supporting
They say Change your Mindset

The whirlpool of emotions
That want to come out
Due to the demotivation
They hide in the heart's hideout

Burned due to dowry
Dead due to rape
The lost pure souls
Are crying at their fate

It's time to change
Time to fight
To abolish what's wrong
And bring in the right

It takes courage to be ME. It takes strength of character to jettison the bandwagon effect and live in accordance to ones world view, instead of societal conventions of what is acceptable and what is not. I like the articulation of the poem, it's a lovely poem bristling with insight. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
