Regret Poem by Joshua Bean

Regret

Rating: 5.0

Through days long and solemn nights,
my memory begins anew.
Though it brings me pain and many frights,
I can't help but think of you.

Every solitude of sleep betrays
my lonely inner eye.
For when I rest my head and pillow braves
I dream of you and I.

While I wake and live and move and breathe,
your sight, it brings me pain.
My mortal soul, I attempt to sheathe
or else I go insane.

Oh! what wonders I would giveaway
for another chance with you.
For the sins of yonder days I pay,
It is my fault that we are through.

(You know who you are)
