RELATIONSHIPS
They come sometimes, like passing clouds
to bind with hopeful sheaves;
and often gulf like autumn's dusk
when fall we like dry leaves.
They love, they care, cuddle and kiss
like mesmerising spirits.
But anon grant you deep distress,
when run you out of wits.
They name you wife, husband or friend
and bind with mortal chain.
Better you learn, they're afflictions
that give you only pain.
They're colorful, fragrant and sweet
and take you on their wings.
But when discern you with the soul,
they're lethal serpent stings.
But all they happen sans your will.
The bonds are tight; hence taint.
So get connected like a king;
but stay detached like a saint.
Chant Hare Ram and Hare Krshn
to keep your soul ever cleaned
of mortal scents and vapid smells,
untill the bonds get weaned.
