Relations Apparent Poem by Rick Elpers

Relations Apparent

Not as an island
Hidden within the ocean
deeper than water

Fertile ground for illusion
Have I trod this forest before
Gleaming to see others perform

Moments erode into monuments
As I observe with full wonder
To judge the behavior

Retuning to me as shadows
Within panoramic vistas
Darkly yielding wisdom

That appears to reflect
All that I love and despise
Caught in the middle

Wether sandy shoreline
Wether deep dark woods
Wether the abyss of the cosmos

Alone is alone
Even they who show
Separated alone

Cast aside from
The internal war
Of desire and repulsion

Until the final breath
Gives sway to eternal
Relation with God
