'Regretful Aspiration' Poem by Rick Elpers

'Regretful Aspiration'

To taste to smell to hear

Trying yet not successfully
To suffer her life as I can only
imagine her to enjoy my loss
With a flicker of thought
I'm cast away to oblivion
I only wish I could be as heartless,
 but alas I can't.
My sorrowful hope someday
that she will be in love,
in misery, in a living death
as I.
To know, to regret.
To reflect...
