Religion: 10 Points Poem by DM W

Religion: 10 Points

Religion without Love's oneness is idolatry.
Religion without substance is but ceremony.
Religion without real communion is just palaver.
Religion without Christ's radicalism is rigid orthodoxy.
Religion without social justice is mere charity.
Religion without the oppressed condones class systems.
Religion without warm symbols is cold columns & statues.
Religion without spirituality is mere dogma.
Religion without enriching joy is pale blue piety.
Religion without true sacrifice is pure hypocrisy.

Another wonderful poem. “Religion without Love is mere idolatry “... very true. Reminds me of what Karl Marx said about Religion: “” “ Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people" .

Thanks Unnikrishnan..much appreciated! You provide a very apt, often misunderstood, quote courtesy of Marx.
