Remember... Poem by Adrian Wait

Remember...

In ceremonies up and down the Land
Tories will be seen leading the Band
With quivering lip, and frown forlorn
Expenses claimed for poppies born
To lay up the Remembrance stone
Baritone voice of sacrifice, healing tone
Remembering the Dead, feeling proud
But, Feck the living, indifference aloud
Respect the Sacrifice, Remember the Dead
Indifference for the living, words left unsaid
Hypocrites many with deaths by their hand
In ceremonies up and down the Land

*I felt then, as I feel now, that the politicians who took us to war should have been given the guns and told to settle their differences themselves, instead of organizing nothing better than legalized mass murder.
