Remember Me. Poem by Nick Rohner

Remember Me.

Remember me.
I remember you.
Time has passed
And distance grew.

Distance makes the heart fonder,
Watch, my mind begin to wander…

Somehow, I see beyond all those lies
All I see, presently, are your sweet blue eyes.
When I dream, I see you in the flesh.
Nevertheless, this vision isn't fresh.
And I declare, furthermore, I will forget!
Although, currently, it seems, I cannot quite yet.

My mind is on a tether and it STILL dares to wander
More than that, for you now, it grows fonder.
All I have to suggest I've marked here in verse.
In which this, my longing only grows worse.

I don't know what to say or do,
I will crumble if I continue back to you.
I drag my feet and grab for holds
But despite it all you pull me near.
You're not to blame for you know not how you draw me in

In this game of forgetting, I cannot seem to win!

It's not to say that in remembering I loose,
But you over me; I cannot dare to choose!
