Remember Me Poem by Samantha Adam

Remember Me

I want you to remember me in the way that I remember my favorite songs,
As the one that was your cry for help, the one that you would call past midnight when solitude occurred.
I want you to remember me as the things that I hated the most, since you always found a way to turn them around and make them beautiful until I laughed.
Remember me when you watch the movies we would quote, when you hear the word ‘winter' and when someone calls you and you pick up as you put your guitar aside.
When you see purple and blue roses, when you think of making fun of chessy couples that break up after three days because that always made us laugh.
Remember me the way that I remember our first kiss, that even though it wasn't like the movies, I give us an A in originality.
You can remember me as that girl that changed you, that girl that listened, that girl that knew you more than you know yourself, but in case you forget it all, at least remember me as your bestfriend.

I do not believe you are the one that has been forgotten.
