We Promised Too Much Poem by Samantha Adam

We Promised Too Much

we promised too much,
what was the good in that?
i believe it was good at the time,
keep in mind that was only our start.
theres no point on lacking honesty,
cause honestly there is no need,
we've already lied too much in the past,
that only led us to mislead.

countless mistakes i only learned to regret,
they gave me nothing but more will to forget,
you aren't any good, and you never were,
you took so much for me it almost isn't fair.

im drawing an end.
whats the good in trust if all that is used for,
is to have a secret to defend?
not even goodbyes,
thats just wasting time.
i'll blur you out and make you dissapear,
you're gone in this mind of mine.

we promised too much,
but asked for something in return,
you were an angel guiding with your caring face,
and dropped me down to burn.
theres no point on lacking honesty,
cause honestly there is no need,
im taking things into my own terms,
and i could careless if you do not agree.
