Remember Me With A Smile Poem by Don Subba

Remember Me With A Smile

Remember me
When I'm no longer with you,
When the day arrives
That I must say goodbye.
Remember the moments
We shared through the years.
When I'm no longer here,
Hold them close, my dear.

Remember me with a smile,
Remember me.
Let it be your smile,
To carry you through.
Remember me with a smile,
Remember me...
If that's what you need,
Keep me in your heart.

Think of all the memories,
Let them carry you away.
May they calm your soul
Like a cool autumn breeze.
But if you should forget me
Somewhere down the road,
And remembering one day
Would only bring you pain...

Place me somewhere gently
In the corners of your heart.
If my name should bring you sorrow,
Let the sadness drift away.
I'd rather you keep smiling
Than mourn what's come and gone.
I'd rather live inside your joy
Than inside your tears.

Remember me with a smile,
Remember me.
Let it be your smile,
To carry you through.
Remember me with a smile,
I'd rather be your peace
Than a wound upon your heart.
Remember me with a smile,
Remember me.
And if I must fade,
Let your joy be what remains.
