Remember You And I Poem by Jason Kelly

Remember You And I

Remember you and I
Remember the days we talked on the telephone forever,
Remember the nights we spent together,
Remember we dreamed they would last forever,
And we would never part,
The heart,
Does play tricks on the mind,
Like fools in love we were,
In the sands of time
Remember the long walks in the moonlight,
Your hand in mine, and I would hold you close and
Let the winds of life rush by,
Remember you and I
And of the life we dreamed,
And the thought of never saying goodbye,
Then I lied,
I became someone I was not
I broke your heart, and I can still see
The pain in your eyes,
And feel the hurt of your cries,
I remember you and I
When I close my eyes I dream of what could have been,
What never was to be, because of a foolish lie,
I paid the price, alone I dwell ,
Now twenty five years have passed,
You found love again and so did I,
And with family, love and time,
We can again say Hi, but in every second we speak,
I still remember your touch, your Kiss, your heart,
Your love, and all that could have been if only
I had not lied
I will always love you in part till the day I die,
And will forever
Remember you and I
