Remembering Poem by Linda May Fox

Remembering

Rating: 5.0

Sometimes silent
Unknown to us, where he went
And then anger shown
When we wished to know.

Other times he'd speak
Of bombs, fire and catastrophe, though feelings he would keep
The smoke that filled the air
In the lungs a lifetime to bare.

Returning home with fear
That he had lost all he held dear
One night a bomb
Which shook his family home.

Then, again silence,
On himself he depends
words to his mother from long ago
Lost souls only, to know.

As he wanders, back to the place
We have not had to face
Knowing, never
What he has to remember.
