Remind Me That I'm A Mist Poem by Qiniso Mogale

Remind Me That I'm A Mist

Lord, this world deceives with false promises of security and significance
This world portrays itself as if it is eternal whereas it is only temporal
Very few people realise that the materialistic world we live in is temporary
Very few people realise that all people are like grass; grass withers
Should I forget, Lord, remind me that I'm a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.

Dear Lord, help me to remember that I'm nothing without you, no matter the distinguished titles and social positions I may hold
Help me to remember that I shall account for all I've done in this body
Help me to remember that the only thing of great value is eternal life in Christ
Lord, let me not be deceived by the false promises of security and significance
Dear Christ, remind me that I'm a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes
Amen!
