Reminiscing Poem by Melody McKinstrie

Reminiscing

Reminiscing about
Passed loved ones
The maudlin aspect
Lost on these folks.

They cared
And it showed.
Deaths brought about
By suicide
And cancer.

The former not mentioned.
It would be a bummer
When we were
Chatting about
Happier times.

Music accompanied
Some memories
That song was
Liked by so and so.
It's reverence now
Set in stone.

Tears held in check
Glistening on lashes.
Some hugs exchanged.
Among the living
All wishing
For a hug
From those
Dearly departed.
