Remnants Of The Soul Poem by Cynthia Sok

Remnants Of The Soul

now that your gone
and no more will you wake at dawn
no more will your soul
tell the story it was supposed to be told
your life and death
lives only in you

such a pity
to see you go forever
but for me, there'll be no brighter weather
leaving me in great pain
and you in great pleasure
I made sure no blood will run in your vain
and that your left with no treasure

now that your gone
there's no burden left
but for you i say
a story never told
will never be seen
it lived with you
and died with you

my soul
can be cold
but truly I'm glad
that your secret will die in silence
