Remorse - Poem by Vinayak Manikkedath

Blasphemous,
Shame, reproach
A thousand nerves
Tearing my insides
Unsatisfied
Yes, unsatisfied,
Confused
Ashamed…
Aimless…
Nothing worthwhile
To bring about…
Worthless..
The worst kind of pessimist
Others may say
For what I was born
The biggest question
I face..
Else whatever worthwhile
I may do
If I think otherwise..
Is decided by whom?
Being honest to myself,
The biggest question which I face,
The biggest fear which I face,
Is whether I will find the answer
Hence which is why
I can't meet my own
When I look at myself
In the mirror…
