Removing Yourself From Me Poem by Shilesha Johnson

Removing Yourself From Me

Instead of telling me to leave you so that I don’t feel the pain again
Why not try to bring whatever’s causing the pain to an end
Why not keep whatever’s damaging us away
But instead of removing yourself from the problem
You stay
Removing yourself from me instead
And maybe I should lay all of this to bed
Because I hate having to cry myself to sleep
I hate not being all or even half of what you need
You’re going to cheat
And do whatever it is that Winslow wants to do
So do it
I’m not even going to TRY and stop you
