Renewed By Love Poem by Jeremy Nel

Renewed By Love

Rating: 4.0

Your sweet words flow across my soul
As does the water of the babbling brook,
Soothing and calming my troubled mean
Gently, as does the cooling stream,
Sweeping my troubles asunder.

You gently hold our fledgling love
Like a fragile egg against your warm beating heart
Gently nurturing it to maturity
To then let it gently loose from the protection
To emerge as does a butterfly from its cocoon.

Gently it spreads its wings
To let the sun of your love strengthen it
And then let it boldly rise against the light
To reveal the fullness of its beauty
To all who would see.

I lean my head against your breast
To feel the warmth of your body
Suffusing me with its heat
To sooth my raw emotions
And warm my soul.

When you do so hold me tight
My soul is shielded from prying eyes
As is the well worn road below the ancient trees
Whose boughs doth bend and shield it with the shade
From the branches, gently swaying in the wind.

Your gentle gaze stares at me
Through these caring eyes
To heal my soul and
Smooth my ruffled brow
With its loving gaze.

Your soothing words
Restores my peace.
Your cool hands across my face
Will smooth the wrinkles of my soul, and ease the pain,
And heal the hurt that has for so long remained within.

I feel renewed and so refreshed
In your presence, in hearing your voice
My soul is calmed
My mean is peaceful
I am content.

Now I walk this path of life
With you at my side.
I now see life in all its glory
And all its beauty.
For I am not alone.
