Renouncing Poem by Edwina Reizer

Renouncing

I renounce all evil
and yet it's here.
I renounce all fools
and yet it's clear
that fools can't detect
the evil they see.
Their eyes are closed.
They just let it be.

I renounce all hate
and yet it persists.
I renounce all haters
and yet they co-exist
with all of the lovers
that observe the good.
Their eyes don't close
the way they should.
