Republican Kentucky Poem by Randy McClave

Here in the great state of republicanism Kentucky
We are so very happy and warm and lucky,
As we live in the Bluegrass "IT'S THAT FRIENDLY" State
As our Republicans dictate our fate.
Republican lawmakers in Kentucky introduced a new bill
Where more or less it's legal to freeze to death or to kill,
They would criminalize homeless encampments in the land
That's the first law for hate by their ungodly hand.
They are expanding the state's, "Stand Your Ground law"
Where if you are a freezing homeless person you must fall,
Either by freezing to death or to be shot dead
As what the new introduced bill has read.
The bill, dubbed the "Safer Kentucky Act"
Has already received more than 45 Republican co-sponsors for the pact,
Property owners are allowed to confront unhoused people with a gun
Evil and judgement in Kentucky has now just begun.
If you are found residing in a temporary shelter, or vehicle to stay warm
To protect yourself or family from any type of storm,
By the law of the state the homeless cold person they will charge
Because, your intention to sleep you will face a misdemeanor by and large.
Leading to fines-and a potential imprisonment of up to 90 days
Let's give those God fearing lawmakers our gratitude and praise,
Now hateful landlords are raising their rental prices
As they hear of the local freezing and needing crisis.
Of course the renters will blame the government or someone else
While in their soul they know that it is truly themselves,
At the soon to be Republican led committee hearing
God himself will also be there angrily listening to the cheering.
I wonder upon those Republicans judgement day
I wonder what unto God Almighty what will they utter and say,
"We proclaim that we are a Christian state in a Christian country"
But, only if you're not poor or an immigrant or needy.
