I came here full of doubt,
Not of myself or those about,
I came here in chains of fear and full of doubt.
My feet dragged me along this path,
My heart regretting this very act,
My mind reviewing the facts.
I could hear you approach me; inaudible footsteps,
Each step an added weight on my chest,
This was it; I would know if I passed the test.
I looked up at my judge, my case, my fate,
And you looked past the stranger on this date,
Somehow you saw in me a friend, a mate.
I am still uncertain about how things went that night,
But the light I see in you daily shines bright,
And I know without a doubt, for me, you are right.
Piece of elegance embellished in poetic rhyme and rhythm. Beautiful poem well articulated and nicely penned with insight. Thanks for sharing Leonard and welcome to Poemhunter.
