Rescued Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Rescued

Clump of exploring brown fur
Exploring with a nervous grip
Hesitating… fearfully immobile
Unsure… beginning to slip

Mother has heard chattering whimpers
Her instincts guide caring eyes
Approaching with a heroic stride
Surveying cautiously…maternally wise

Nape grasping…young one hugging
Climbing upward to comfort nest
Releasing gently and reassuring
Freeing uncertainty…safe at rest
