Resilience Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Resilience

The petals of each rose in the garden
are less vibrant and pale under
the dimly illuminated ghostlike sky…
quivering with the sound of thunder

Their blooms are subdued in tone
as they endure cold splashes of rain
holding securely to their inner beauty …
bending slightly as resiliency remains

Calmness follows as raindrops stop...
an emergence of a new day lights
the horizon… refreshed and sustained
the roses greet the sun with delight
