as a youth baby if lucky
we grew in the arms of love
but the world was cruel
violent ignorant full of oiled lies
in many places beyond our doorsteps
famine starvation intolerant wars
raged in far forgotten to western eyes
far away places where rubber oil resources
from ground ripped in foreign countries
were exploited to fill industrial pockets
elite rich spiders plundered earth biosphere
webs destructive left waste slag toxic heaps
ground ripped raped ravaged wounds
weep in barren sites where nothing sleeps
trees plants animals life no longer peeps
from paradise verdant luscious green veils
where life miraculous in web awe ecosystems
once light arose astounded eye enriched lungs
