Rest Not Forever Poem by Joshua Swanson

Rest Not Forever

It is easy to be still
To let the long grass grow
around me

For peace is greatest when all
the noise of day is gone
Beyond me

The Warm caress of silence
Still echoes of motion
Before me

The sun sets blue around me
Six feet away they walk
Above me

the air the sea the earth all
Burn still with hopes extinct
Within me

let me not find the peace of
A rest without a dream
Awake me
