Restless As A Wave Poem by Pratiksha Sonkar

I am like a restless wave
which swells before it realizes
and ebbs before it knows.
I know my bounds
but I often transgress
in a vain attempt to embrace the shore.

Wisdom guides me to calm
Desires stir me to defy all norms.
I learn to reconcile with new lessons of life, everyday....
But all knowledge melts between sheets
As soon as your thoughts intrude
When I close my eyes to fall asleep.

Howsoever hard I try
To be immune to instinct,
Every time I struggle, I lose, I win.
