Restricted

I DO NOT call it fettered
the body still can swing to the right.
I've seen your hands handcuffed
but your eyes can see much better now.
sooner, the best teacher of all,
Time, shall teach you with all the depths
of the sea and the heights of the skies
and the massiveness of space.
You can only eat what is being fed.
You have no choice. You can only sleep
in the bed with others like you.
It is not you who will put off the light
and impose the darkest silence of this
hideaway. You are brought here and kept here
not without any valid reason.
The reasons of your own choosing however.
You are surely restricted but mind you,
It is and will always be for your own good,
And society's safety.

Life is restricted but mind is not restricted. This poem is very brilliantly penned.
