Restricted Breath Poem by Dakota Ellerton

Restricted Breath

Rating: 5.0

You've always got a tight grip on me.
No matter where I am,
I can feel you playing with my heart.
Slowly cutting the threads.
What do you want from me now?
Have you not taken enough?
Stop tormenting me.
Playing with me.
Don't speak to me,
if you've chosen a liars tongue.
Sick of the childish look you give me,
the honesty you claim.
You dodge the point,
freeze with silence.
What secrets are you keeping now?
Probably too many to spew in four hours.
Still you lay in my bed,
and catch my pouring heart.
You mask yourself to hide the flaws.
But I more then any other,
know your flaws.
I know every side of you,
I've seen every inch inside and out.
I know what you are,
and how you act.
But I still love you,
regardless I'm not leaving.
I couldn't If I wanted now.
Though sometimes,
I pray for nothing more.
You haven't a clue what you've done.
