Retour A La Mer. (Translation) . Poem by Michael Walker

Retour A La Mer. (Translation) .

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Hughes wrote a few poems about sailors. In this poem a young sailor speaks of returning to sea that day, which he is very much looking forward to. The ship could remind him of his home, so that it is like
finding 'the broken edge of a dream'. The two quatrains rhyme: abab/caca.
