Retribution Poem by Bryan Taplits

Retribution

Shadows form on the horizon's verge
The oceans and rivers run high,
The mountains and alps toward skyway each surge
As one stumbles-and wonders-and sighs.
But you who are rebuffed and rebuffed once again
For you there is only one solution,
Not to phone in regrets-
nor convey dispute in text-
But to plan and plot apt retribution.

But you say: Retribution is not
The gentleman's way
For there can be other routes to be taken,
But when you use other routes-
and don't merely want to shout-
I find that its best to stress
Retribution.

You no longer will be called, 'A gentleman'-that's true
And others may avoid you like a bad scent,
But at least your satisfaction will never be soppin‘-
And your feelings will always be poppin-
And-
they surely always will know
wherever you go-
And also wherever you went.
