-return- Poem by Tobbie WhiteBird Crowe

-return-

So your back again.
Dogging my footsteps
Waiting behind each door.

Your back again, gentlely
Whispering in my ear,
Of peace and darkness.

You whisper in my ear
Of silvered towers and crystal beds
Peace wrapped in coffin shrods.

You promise me no pain
Deep deamless sleep,
And sweet, sweet oblivion.

How I wish to believe in you.
I'm so very, very tired of pain.
But I trust you... less than life.

There's no sweet oblivion
No peace, no sleep, no hope.
Only endless, endless pain.

And you, brother death
Dogging my footsteps
Forever...
