Tobbie WhiteBird Crowe Poems

I miss you, I still miss you.
Alone in the quiet darkness of night
Where no one sees,
The tears still fall… even now.
...

If you don’t remember…
Your life is only half full.
And it’s the unknown empty spaces
That forever haunt your dreams,
...

Would they even care
If they knew
That deep inside I feel my heart is breaking.
That grief like death lies burdened on my soul.

I know that you are there
In trail and pain and anger.
I know you always take my part,
But it's often hard to see.
...

I'd like to sing a song for you
To tell you how I feel.
That how friendship, you've shown to me
Is felt so very dear.
...

I remember you as a small child,
Laughing, happy in God's light.
I remember how things made you smile,
A butterfly, flower or cat.
...

I'd sing a song of joy and praise
But I don't have the words.
I'd sing a song of my love for you
But the words just don't appear.
...

I wish I could reach out and touch
The place where you are.
I wish I could tell you how much
I'm caring inside.
...

Wandering in caves of time all alone.
Bewildered; betrayed in circles to roam.
Your always there, guiding my hand
Till together we find the daylight again.
...

The dark has scarred my soul,
While death seeks to befriend me
Yet as always stays his hand;
Following with his thin pale horse
...

Once upon a time I had a friend.
It wasn't so very long ago.
A friend that really mattered,
A friend that cared for me,

I really feel quite certain
That I don't need all this pain.

13.

Just when I think I have you
Safely put away.
Out of sight, out of mind, out of touch,
Safely locked up
...

I miss you,
Your right here beside me
But I miss you all the same.
For you are a million miles away

Sometimes, just sometimes;
It might be nice to find a knight
Not on a flashing white charger,
But just riding a plain brown horse.

16.

Teach me how to stop loving you.
Teach me how to stop feeling.
Teach me how you can walk away from me
Without seeming to care.
...

17.

I have known you for so many years my friend
Ups and downs, good and bad, sacrifice and gain.
We have been so close, we have been apart.
We have been lovers, brother, sister, friends.
...

You touched me
Reached out and touched a heart.
A heart grown cold with time.
Cold as the endless, night filled sky.
...

I feel your eyes
Across a crowded room.
They find me, you smile.
A smile that’s meant for me alone.
...

In dreams;
Nothing ever changes.
And no one ever lies.

A Mother's Heart

I miss you, I still miss you.
Alone in the quiet darkness of night
Where no one sees,
The tears still fall… even now.

Twenty plus years have past
But not the pain from that loss.
Its as sharp and diamond bright
As the first day I found you were gone,
And I miss you.

A Mother’s heart grieves alone in silence
And no one sees her tears
Or the heart that never heals.
