Return Of The Gods Poem by Denis Martindale

The spirits of Man's sinful past still work behind the scenes,
Enough to bring this world down fast, unless God intervenes,
Yet nations that reject the Lord, and all God's prophecies,
Will learn that when they cut the cord, their troubles will increase.
Traditions once held in esteem will swiftly pass away,
And men will walk, as in a dream, towards God's Judgement Day.

Consider revelation gone, consider wisdom, too,
The glory of the Lord that shone departed then from view.
And life itself as meaningless, and hopes smashed to the ground,
For evil spirits never bless the ones not Heaven-bound.
The unsaved souls find no rewards, no treasures that abide,
If they reject the Lord of Lords that once was crucified.

The prophets warned of such a time, when love for God grew cold,
Yet saints with faith that proves sublime will shine as bright as gold.
