Reunion At Facebook (With Added Stanzas) Poem by Salvie Rosales

Reunion At Facebook (With Added Stanzas)

Should we not thank all the scientists and engineers?
For technology created as they reach out their careers.
Known before computers, a web was a spider’s home
Gets reunited in this World Wide Web facebook.com.

Reconnect with long lost friends from yesteryears in gain
That I thought would never see my erstwhile crush again.
Unwittingly vanished too quickly with linger behind none
Heart beats quicken with excitement to fasten the undone.

Everyone wished to see faded photographs in old style
Young and innocent faces that comments makes you smile.
Oh, topsy-turvydom to all, as names we can not remember
‘Thou others had bade goodbye, ne'er make it in September.

In my search for lost friend, names appeared was in despair
‘Coz our age taking our mundane now covered with grey hair.
Memories engraved in heart, full of joy and laughter shared
Hope guides the years that we shall meet and be prepared.

Lines above caused sadness and wreak eyes to tears
Let’s shift now to happiness it’s here we seek in years.
Times have changed as images on photos seems unfair
Long ago we have long hair, and now we long for hair.

When we turned eighteen; we passed the driver’s test;
At forty-seven or nine; we barely passed the vision test.
In twenties some have tried popping pills or smoking joints;
Wish not before long for us to take pills for popping joints.

Too long to wait for another thirty-four years or more
With canes on hand, might not make to parade anymore.
Hearing aids may be repaired and teeth will be boiled
Soon afterwards a reunion for the olds might be spoiled.

Oh my God, whenever You will call for me
Let me take my computer to heaven free.
Oh God I promise to be online at all times be
And chat with friends at Facebook, oh please agree.
