Ridiculous - Poem by Maddi Eden

Isn't it funny
How when you're in love
Ridiculous things
Have extraordinary meaning?

For example, let me cite
The Boxing Day tsunami
On that disastrous day
I thought as much about the poor victims, as about
Whether he would call me later, or not.

When there were bombings in London
I commiserated the dead to myself
And then lamented
That he had forgotten my birthday.

How ridiculous.
How frighteningly ridiculous.
