Ridiculous Beast Poem by Francis Michael Bacon

Ridiculous Beast

A stag stands proud
Below the hotel byre
Ten point regalia
Attitude to match
Challenges me
To the rut

Head cocked
For the dual
Knee bent
For the charge
Watching me now
Eye to eye

Do I look like a Stag
With my knitted bonnet?
No wonder I'm troubled
With my feelings
Towards you. Stag,
It's our hormones!
