Bashful Beings Poem by Francis Michael Bacon

Bashful Beings

Oh I know you
Find me interesting
Perched so close
To where I spade
The heavy earth

Oh I hear you
Singing to my heart
Twittering away
With your friends
Over by

Oh I see you
Rarely, but a glipse
Of skirted feathers
Flutters past my
Dimming eye

And so my lips
Part to say hello
Flit - I've scared you off
You'll be back
Please come back

very nice, playful piece. Focused on its subject, not its speaker, - a kind of enlightenment.
