Ring Rang Rung Poem by Neela Nath Das

Ring Rang Rung

I ring and rang
yes, it has rung.
The voice
turned my choice.
And I changed
my chosen mission.
I said, 'Are you Tom,
my elder brother's friend? '
No, no, who are you? - - - -
the stranger asked,
from the other end.
Despondency made me feel,
his number has changed.
But, later,
I got a missed call.
I didn't ring back to let
me think it's from him,
for whose call, I'll be waiting.
Actually,
I don't long to break
that bubble of hope!
Never ever!

it reminded me of a famous verse by Perween Shakir: apne fone pe apna number baar baar dial karti hun... you infused dramatic vigour into poetry! ! ! Actually, I don't long to break that bubble of hope! Never ever!
