'Ripping My Heart Out But...' - Poem by Kevin Wang

hopes and dreams fade away
taken by themselves
a tear and pearl or two swiped away
by the gentle touch of getting smaller each day

why oh why
is the day so gray
why oh why
are they so mourn as said

just questioning out of the blue
taking there days to the light the laugh the happiness of the day
yet all i get is the back of their heads
saying good riddance to the good old days

now i wonder
where did my pen go
where did my paper go
where did she go
these sadden days of mayday

take that dagger
strike it with ferocity
and burn this wall down
with a second the bare
the worn skin to tear

only asking to care
you are my friends
you are my pieces of my heart
so at least tell me one or two
as precious ones are slowly going by
so farewell
but only just for now
