Rise Poem by Partha Pratim Goswami

Rise

Rating: 5.0

In the shades of those frosty nights
The mother earth was sleeping in bliss
Witnessing all abuses and slaughter
For springs after springs turning to aeons
When these mountains nourished and
Rivers played harmony wisdom and peace
Calm quiet like the other day But now Why

Beware The owl is screaming
This is not the same ambience and time
The earth is trembling lavas underneath ripe
That silent volcano about to erupt
Now rise at least now Rise OR

The valleys will shed tears of drought
This is our soul our heart and land
Donot let the evil touch and rot
Rise rise and stand let us look back
To the stories of Saraighat let us listen
To the mother earth already awake
About to burst and scream

Rise
POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem is written to raise the voice of Protest against the Citizenship Amendment Bill which is a real threat to the indigenous cultural social and demographic stature of Assam and North-East. Though the protest has been raised in humongous manner in NE but the awareness is very less across the country
