Rise To Meet The Day! Poem by Minnie Gehrig

Rise To Meet The Day!

the sky darkenns and crys,
n becomes lighthearted again before dumping her waters,
bi polar in the longing to belong to
something universally un-understandable,

n red flags rise against women n all nations,
unleashing and unfurling in the godeessees own breathes,

mothers forgotten aceept against the fleshy heart of sailors,

making there own ways n a world men
find cruel,
but ever learnining the love in there hearts is real,

medusa statue stare,
that disarms children whom try to pilfer sweets before dinner is served,

against the greed of a corporate world,
adolecent,
fighting the strings,
the attachments of there birth,

america,
born of the feminine,
forever boasting its french gifts,
the statue of liberty bleeding into a newyork horizan,

the death of the twins already forgotten except on the holiday that all faith died,

n yet as my ancesterhood rises against,
trying to find itself in the 20th century,

losing itself fog in the glass

rises against the misery,
david and goliath,
rise to meet the day.
