Road Into Autumn Poem by Deanna Samuels

Road Into Autumn

A morning jaunt around the local streets
enjoying the view from my sturdy trike,
turned the corner and - lo and behold,
an avenue afire, a road into Autumn

A blanket of orange lay thickly yonder
the whole surface covered in autumn wonder
with leaves on trees above barely depleted
hinting plainly, so many more still to fall

Autumn has finally arrived in all its splendor
with reds and golds setting the scene ablaze,
light breezes provoked leaves to flutter down,
gusts evoked a shower, heaping up on ground

The beauty of Autumn is like no other,
colors and hues that only nature knows,
even the greatest painter' s colored pallet
is no match when Autumn is in full golden glory.
