Road To Freedom Poem by Bakare Oluwagbenga Michael

Road To Freedom

Rating: 5.0

Till date, we lived in fear;
Of pains we had to bear.
Our skin was stained in jeer;
With no clothes for us to wear: ..

Our girls, they raped and cursed;
Their wounds, we licked and nursed;
We cried for what they caused;
To work, our hands were forced: ..

One day, we rose to fight;
We fought for day and night;
We strived to face our plight;
And now, we won our fright: ..

Let man and bird sing;
Like bell our hearts ring;
Rejoice and don't cringe;
The joy that freedom bring: ..

HAPPY INDEPENDENT NIGERIA! ! !
