Robert Gray Poem by Dean Meredith

Robert Gray

Like a nervous
Thirsty bird
He perched
Ginger crested
Eyes ablaze
Beak open
Feathers frayed
Thin legs
Clasped together
Flock gathered
All proud
And preening
And cackling
And calling
His answer
A song
On a breeze
So calming
Outside
He is summer
Inside
He is autumn
