Rock Poem by jessie davies

Rock

Rating: 4.0

i open my eyes
as far as i can see
the sky flows
clouds look ever so close
but at the same time far away
i want to reach out and touch them
i wish i could fly

i lay on this rock
high above the city
the lights of the night
light up sky so bright

stars peak out of the clouds
the moon slowly moves
i take a deep breath
try to take it all in
allow the cool crisp air clense my soul

this is what its all about
ive bin chasing false dreams
the bottle has scuffed my soul
but the earth is here to clense it
how come i never noticed this
ive bin walking with my eyes closed
all along its bin here right in front of myself

i stand up on the hill
looking out in the distance
the wind blows through my body
god dam, how come i never noticed such beauty

Here again. The title was unimpressive, but the poem was not, so I recommend it. You can't fool me twice. I don't know the deal here, but the writer is obviously better than he thinks he is. GW62
