Rope Of Death Poem by Raj Dronamraju

Rope Of Death

I was made to be ignored
Made to be alone
Made to suffer in insecurity

And I fear I've dragged you with me
What I was made to do is stronger than your residual happy energy

I was made to be ridiculous by dreaming of success
I was made to struggle harder for lesser and lesser gains
I was made to treat staples as precarious, little treats as luxury

And I've tied you to a pole without shade or shelter
And the rope moves up to your waist and around your neck
This is a feeling I know all too well

I was made to give out rather than give up
Go on until it's physically impossible
At that point, I was made to become dead weight and pull you down to cold poverty
