Rose Then Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Rose Then

Rose then
The Prophet Seer and
The crowds told:
‘You be ageing old
Yet as maturing things
More experience begets
Towards almost everything'

Then said the Prophet Seer
To the crowds:
‘What I do, I do for you
After all
That be my duty'

The waters heard and smiled
The winds were still
But sleepy heard;
Winked the darkening sky:
And
Then the Prophet Seer talked
More to the crowd
And his voice was of new things
And the crowd heard
Yet pondered on all things.
